Roll-up mattresses often have elastic bands at all four corners, designed to be secured under the topper. By fastening the roll-up mattress in place, you ensure that it does not bunch up or slide around under the sheet. The purpose of a roll-up mattress is to protect the bed from moisture, dirt, and bacteria. Unlike the topper, a roll-up mattress can be washed in the washing machine, helping to keep the bed clean. After washing, the roll-up mattress should never be tumble-dried, as this can cause significant shrinkage. It should always air-dry, and during drying, it should be stretched several times by pulling on the ends and sides to maintain its shape and minimize shrinkage.
